From today, I became a unemployment. So I confirmed my schedule to do. That is below.

<Retirement procedures>

  • Become dependents on my wife health insurance, I and both of my children.
  • Reissue my children’s medical expenses deduction certifications.
  • Change my pension type to depend on my wife.
  • Put my employment insurance limit away in after JOCV.
  • Change defined contribution pension to iDeCo.

<Preparations of JOCV>

  • Submit a certification of retirement and a application for vaccinate cost refund.
  • Buy preparation things for living in Malawi.
  • Exchange yen to dollar for initial expense in Malawi.
  • Update my driving license irregularly.
  • Notify my wife as my tax guardianship.
  • Eliminate a credit card to not be used.
  • Suspend my ID in Japan.
  • Exclude my residence certificate.

To make these list, I feel that I have many things to do. I think that I should check what I must do again.

Correct Version

From today I am unemployed, so I have reviewed my schedule of tasks. They are as follows:

<Retirement procedures>

  • Register myself and our two children as dependants on my wife’s health‑insurance policy.
  • Reissue our children’s certificates for medical‑expense subsidies.
  • Change my National Pension status to that of a dependant under my wife.
  • Defer receipt of my unemployment benefit until after my JOCV service.
  • Transfer my company defined‑contribution pension into an iDeCo account.

<JOCV preparations>

  • Submit my certificate of resignation and the application for reimbursement of vaccination costs.
  • Purchase the items I will need for daily life in Malawi.
  • Exchange yen for US dollars to cover my initial expenses in Malawi.
  • Renew my driving licence ahead of schedule if necessary.
  • Nominate my wife as my tax guardian.
  • Cancel any credit cards I will not use.
  • Suspend my Japanese My Number identity card.
  • Remove my residence certificate (jūminhyō) from the local register.

Having drawn up this list, I realise there is a great deal to do, so I should check it carefully once more to ensure nothing is overlooked.
