Why Milk Lasts So Long in Malawi

Day 94 – Life in Africa

For these two days, I have had no fever. So the cold was almost cured, I thought. But the running nose have continued yet. Depend on it, I also have a cough with phlegm. Then the cold have not got well perfectly. By the way, the first phot is corn on the yard of my house. The land load is a farmer, so these corps they harvested were dried and put into bags. In Malawi, people grow corn, called “maize” and its color is white, everywhere. But this corn is orange, so it may a kind of corn for popcorn. While the second phot, it is a box of milk that I bought this week. In Malawi, milk is sold at room temperature. And more, the date of best before is more than a half year later. This is due to high-temperature sterilization. Because there is no cool transfer technology, It is thoroughly sterilized and transported at room temperature.
